As a US Field Sales Application Engineer, you will confidently apply your technical expertise and attention to detail to drive new business, provide critical applications support to customers, and collaborate closely with various teams across sales, product management, engineering, production, purchasing, and quality to deliver consistent results by understanding customer requirements, solving application challenges, and ensuring effective communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a partner to field sales in crafting solutions for our customers.
- Partner across functions to document, plan, coordinate, and execute experiments to validate customer use cases.
- Communicate test results to customers or their representatives via email, teleconference, or face-to-face meetings.
- Qualify new applications through analysis or experimentation
- Create and document technical content.
- Support sales team as the product expert.
- Represent ZYGO at trade shows and conferences.
- Address incoming technical or service inquiries from customers in a timely manner.
- Train customers on basic technology, systems design, and product use. Assist customers with setup and integration of our products, including optical alignment and establishing communications, both on site and remotely.
- Represent the voice of the customer during internal meetings.
Required skills and qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in Engineering, Optics or Optical Engineering
- Willingness to gain experience in optical metrology, design engineering and manufacturing, preferably with Interferometry. May continue optical education in optical metrology within Zygo.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and succinctly, work collaboratively with a team, cross-functionally at clock speed.
