Purpose of the Position: The Machining Cell Leader will be responsible for overseeing the operation of the machining cell, managing production schedules, ensuring quality standards, and leading a team of machinists to achieve production targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining operations, team leadership, and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the machining cell, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management to meet production targets and customer demand.
- Supervise and mentor a team of machinists, operators, and technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and production procedures.
- Maintain equipment and tooling, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and coordinating with maintenance and facilities teams to minimize downtime and maximize uptime.
- Ensure a safe working environment, enforcing safety policies and procedures, conducting safety training sessions, and promoting a culture of safety awareness and compliance among team members.
- Maintain accurate production records, work instructions, and documentation, ensuring traceability and accountability for all activities performed within the machining cell.

- Rotating shift
- Managing a 24/7 plant structure, so occasional support when needed.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 3+ years of working experience in operations
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team of machinists and technicians to achieve production goals and objectives.
- Strong technical expertise in machining principles, tooling design, cutting parameters, and CNC programming, with hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting CNC machine tools.
- Familiarity with precision measurement instruments, gauges, and metrology techniques used for quality inspection and dimensional verification.

- Experience with manufacturing software systems (e.g., ERP, MES) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software for programming CNC machines is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to improve operational performance and quality.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, 5S methodology, and continuous improvement techniques for process optimization and waste reduction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

The range for this position is $55,491.00 - $76,301.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
