The Job:
The Sales Training Manager is responsible for enhancing employee productivity across Timken's global Sales and Engineering organizations. This role serves as the lead trainer for commercial, financial, and professional skills, utilizing personal experience and industry best practices to drive behavior change and business results. The manager leads the Timken Sales & Engineering Academy programs for all levels and partners.
Key responsibilities include assessing development needs, driving training initiatives, and designing creative, effective training solutions to enhance employee performance. This covers advanced and basic selling skills, value selling, negotiation, commercial proposal development, communication, leadership, cultural etiquette, and other essential soft skills.
The manager directly manages U.S.-based sales trainees. Additionally, the role involves external networking with customers, consultants, universities, and training partners.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Instruct

Teach or co-instruct select classes

Participate in instructor selection and development

Audit classes to evaluate trainer platform skills, accuracy and interactivity of class materials

Set classroom expectation and make sure trainees adhere to that expectation through feedback and audit reviews

Plan and Schedule rotational field visits of full time training participants.

Support special training requests on an as need basis
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering with at least 5 years of Technical Sales or Account Management or equivalent
